Historic 19th Century Church
377 Clifton Ave, Newark, NJ
Project Description
12,000 Square Feet. Completed March 2025 (Grand Opening April 6th, 2025)
Our team was honored to restore the roof of this historic 19th-century church, ensuring durability, weather resistance, and long-term protection for generations to come. This massive 12,000-square-foot project required expert craftsmanship to address both steep-pitched shingle roofing and flat roof sections, while preserving the church’s historic integrity.Materials and Work Performed
- Complete Tear-Off - The old roofing was stripped down to the original wood decking. Due to previous fire damage, multiple sections of wood had to be replaced before installing the new roof system.
- Steep-Pitched Roof - Installed Owens Corning Duration asphalt shingles to provide superior weather resistance and long-lasting performance.
- Flat Roofs - Applied GAF Ruberoid Smooth Torch for optimal waterproofing and longevity on several flat sections.
- Extreme Pitch and Height Challenges - The main roof featured a 35% pitch at a staggering 50-foot height, requiring specialized safety measures and expert installation techniques.
